EYD Edisi V

In Indonesia, the language of instruction used is Indonesian. The Indonesian language continues to experience development, especially with regard to spelling. Spelling is the rules for how to describe sounds (words, sentences, etc.) in written form (letters) and the use of punctuation marks.
On August 18, 2022, the Language Development and Development Agency (Badan Bahasa), Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology, officially launched Enhanced Indonesian Spelling (EYD) edition V at the Language Agency Office, Jakarta. This launch is a form of the Language Agency's commitment to providing linguistic and literary services in accordance with the needs of society and the times.
The Language Development and Development Agency reused the name EYD. This is because the term EYD has appeared a long time ago so it is considered to be stuck on the tongue and settles in the ears of the Indonesian people. EYD Edition V was implemented after van Ophuijsen, Repoeblik/Soewandi, EYD, and PUEBI. Enhanced Indonesian Spelling (EYD) is an official guideline used by government agencies, the private sector and the public in using the Indonesian language properly and correctly.
