About Trattoria La Colonna

The building that houses the Trattoria La Colonna is adjacent to the church of S. Maria alla Porta, in the street of the same name. The beginning of the activity dates back to 1922 as a "dairy with catering service", in a context that bears the signs of the bombing of the second world war (whose traces are still visible today in the same religious complex). The restaurant becomes exclusive in the 1960s, when the restaurant turns into a classic trattoria surrounded by neighborhood shops, from the butcher shop to the tripperia.
The environment has maintained the atmosphere of a typical Milanese trattoria to date and is divided into two small rooms, one in the basement and one on the ground floor. The latter characterized - from here the name of the restaurant - from a large granite column to the clearly visible center and from another column that comes out in part from a wall with the adjoining workshop.
