The social and economic committee (CSE) replaces the elected staff representatives in the company. It merges all the staff representative bodies (IRP), staff delegates (DP), works council (EC) and health, safety and working conditions committee (CHSCT). The CSE must be implemented in all the companies concerned by January 1, 2020 at the latest.

In companies with at least 50 employees, the powers of the staff delegates (DP), the works council (CE) and the health, safety and working conditions committee (CHSCT) are exercised by the CSE .

The mission of the staff delegation to the CSE is to present to the employer individual or collective complaints relating to wages, the application of the labor code and other legal provisions concerning in particular social protection, as well as applicable conventions and agreements. in the business.

It contributes to promoting health, safety and working conditions in the company and carries out investigations into work accidents or occupational or occupational diseases.

The members of the CSE staff delegation can refer to the labor inspectorate all complaints and observations relating to the application of the legal provisions which it is responsible for monitoring.

The CSE also has the mission of ensuring collective expression of employees allowing their interests to be taken into account on a permanent basis:

In decisions relating to the management and economic and financial development of the company
In decisions relating to the organization of work, vocational training and production techniques
The CSE is informed and consulted on matters relating to the organization, management and general operation of the company, in particular on:

Measures likely to affect the volume or structure of the workforce
The modification of its economic or legal organization
Employment and working conditions, in particular working hours, and vocational training
The introduction of new technologies, any major development modifying health and safety conditions or working conditions
Measures taken to facilitate the employment, return to work or continued employment of injured workers, war invalids, civilian invalids, people with progressive chronic diseases and disabled workers, in particular on the adaptation of workstations of work.
