About Média e Aproveitamento dos Alu

Informal ratings
Red or Low Score: when the student scores lower than average.
Minimum or Average Grade (popularly "phew grade"): when the student takes the average grade indicated by the school to pass in the grade.
Blue or High Grade: when the student exceeds the average grade.
In some schools there are grades like this: 1 stage is worth 30 points and the minimum is 18, in 2 and 3 stage it is worth 35 points and the total is 100. When the person does not reach the average, it is said that he is "in recovery" . According to some theorists, this is not necessarily a bad thing, but a step in the learning process.

Some schools adopt parallel recovery, that is, the student is subjected to a new exam as soon as he does not reach the average to see if he can get a higher grade. In some places, recovery takes place in the middle of the year (at the end of the 2nd quarter) or at the end of the school year, in the months of November or December. Such recovery may be a new exam or classes followed by new exams only for students with low grades.

In other schools, the grade distribution system by year is: 1 and 2 stages> Total: 30 points / Average: 18 (60 percent) or 19.5 (65 percent) or 21 (70 percent) points ; 3 stage> Total: 40 points / Average: 24 (60 percent) or 26 (65 percent) or 28 (70 percent) points.
