The synthetic sea salt AquaSafe is a designed and developed to achieve a seawater that is consistent in its parameters with each partial change system.
How is this accomplished?
Deconstructing the components of what is commonly known as "salt" which is actually a mixture of salts in suitable and combined with sterile water will provide us with synthetic sea water of excellent quality for our aquariums. It is divided into three dry components C1, C2 and C3 which are sodium chloride, magnesium sulfate and sodium chloride respectively, and two liquid components: SA and SB containing other necessary salts to prepare seawater and carbonates to adjust the values of alkalinity.
It is divided into these parts because it is a way to ensure that always and in every water change is the same amount of calcium, magnesium, potassium, chloride, sodium, etc. Something that is more difficult to control with mixed salts which comes all in one pot. It is known that chemicals, for instance, have different densities and specific weights, and therefore be stored in warehouses or aquarium where we acquire, over time some tend to go to the bottom of the container. This therefore brings our mixture loses homogeneity, ie if we take a portion of that salt is not necessary necessarily lead ions in their correct proportions. It is one of the explanations because sometimes when we make changes to our partial salt "super recognized brand" obtain values that sometimes disappoint us. And this can happen in a bucket to another exchange or instead with the same bucket ¡¡¡!!! Obviously these chemical variations do not feel them any good to the bodies that populate our tanks, they are adapted to the stability of millions of years the ocean provides them to live and grow.
In addition to the above it is also known by various studies to different brands of salts that contain high levels of many heavy metals that may inhibit the growth of coral organisms. That's why every chemical used in our system has at least one USP grade [Level pharmaceutical and food.] Thus ensuring a low concentration of contaminants.
To facilitate the calculations of the amounts required to prepare certain amount of water, we have developed this calculator. Only one scale and a container to measure milliliters is needed.
