HOW THE APP WORKS
You hear a phrase in English and try to understand by ear what you heard. If just once is not enough for you, you can press the button in the form of the British or American flag, and the phrase will sound again a little slower with the British or American pronunciation, respectively.
If you last clicked on the British flag, further phrases will be voiced with British pronunciation. If the last time it was an American flag, then the pronunciation will also be American.
Having heard the phrase, you can check if you understood it by clicking on the "Show answer" button. You will see the sounded phrase and its translation into Russian on the phone screen, and you will be able to understand whether you heard it correctly.
After assessing the correctness of your understanding, you press the "Correct" or "Incorrect" button, and immediately a new phrase sounds, and you do the same with it.
The program itself determines which phrases have already been removed from the list of phrases, and which ones to give you for listening over and over again until you can confidently understand them.
At the top of the screen, you will always see your progress. It will be expressed as a percentage. One percent will correspond to 10 correctly answered phrases.
WHAT PHRASES YOU WILL HEAR IN THE APP
In total, you will hear 1000 phrases in English. The first hundred phrases consist of only one word, the second hundred consists of two words, the third one consists of three, etc.
At the same time, a list of the 500 most used words in the English language was used to compose the phrases. Each word from this list appears in the appendix at least two times.
APP ADVANTAGES
There are no extremely difficult words and rare expressions in this app. It focuses on developing listening comprehension, not vocabulary development. Although if you are just starting to learn English, then even these 500+ words used in the application will be a good start for you in learning this language.
Phrases that you already know and were able to recognize from the first listening will automatically disappear from your list, and you will not waste time on them.
