About Italicum

The first app that informs you about the Current Italic Time and about the events related to the Carousel of the Last Sun by Sauro Corinaldi.

With 'Italic Hour', or 'Bohemian Hour', we mean the system of measuring the day that foresees its division into 24 hours, starting the count from sunset. It was adopted in Italy, but also in Poland and in the historical regions of Bohemia and Silesia, from the fourteenth century to the end of the eighteenth century, when Napoleon replaced it with the current 'modern hour' system that we all know, and which provides for the counting of hours starting from midnight. A variant of the Italic time was to start counting the day at the time of twilight, half an hour after sunset, just 'when the sun has gone down'.
