The Archaeological Atlas of Małopolska is the first popular scientific portal that is a treasury of knowledge and archaeological heritage of Małopolska.
The portal was created as a result of the project Archaeological Atlas of Małopolska. Digitization and access to the resources of the Archaeological Museum in Krakow, implemented thanks to financial support from the European Regional Development Fund, the Regional Operational Program for 2014-2020, Priority axis: Digital Małopolska, Measure 2.1: "E-administration and open resources", Sub-measure 2.1.2 " Digital Regional Resources ".
The Archaeological Atlas of Małopolska, compiled by archaeologists from the Archaeological Museum in Kraków, is a compendium of knowledge about the archaeological heritage of the region and unique discoveries of approximately 400 archaeological sites in Małopolska. The portal contains elaborated scientific information about the excavated monuments, their dating, cultural content and the history of discoveries. The portal database includes digital images of monuments, archives, as well as maps and photos of sites. The database also presents the profiles of the archaeologists participating in the research and a dictionary of terms.
The Archaeological Atlas of Małopolska is built on the basis of a modern map. Users can plan their excursion routes or navigate archaeological sites according to their preferred guidelines - chronological, thematic or geographic.
The portal's offer also includes READY ROUTES and specially developed COLLECTIONS, which show the possibilities of a wide use of the resources available on it.
EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS is a place where Users can take advantage of interestingly designed archeology lessons that can be used as a supplement to field lessons in history, geography, nature or even drawing. Using the demo materials posted on the portal, the User can easily create their own lessons according to the topic or area of interest.
