In the Fundación Ilumina application you can help fight and prevent cancer by donating and tracking the campaigns and projects in the feed.
Ilumina Association is a non-profit organization founded in 2008 on the initiative of physicians concerned with promoting primary and secondary prevention to minimize the impacts of late diagnosis of cancer. Conceived by Dr. Adriana Brasil, head and neck surgeon, the project is made up of renowned professionals in the health area who provide humanized, inter and transdisciplinary care.
The main goal of the institute is to especially care for the low-income population in order to reduce the waiting time between the appearance of the main symptoms and the beginning of treatment of the eight most common cancers: breast, prostate, intestine, lung, skin, mouth, cervix and head and neck. Our main commitment is to offer all the support so that the patient goes through the process of treatment with quality of life, thus obtaining greater response and less complications, including hospitals, to allow, often, complete cure.
Currently, Ilumina operates in the Pirarcaba macroregion, serving 26 municipalities. At the headquarters of the Association, located at Av. Independência, 171, Centro, Piracicaba / SP, about 1500 consultations are performed free of charge in the areas of Oncology Surgery, Gynecological Surgery, Mastology, Thoracic Surgery, Head and Neck Surgery, Smoking, Oncology Nutrition , Palliative Care and Awareness about risk factors for Cancer. All patients are treated according to the standards of excellence recognized by the National Cancer Institute (INCA), thanks to a group of 120 volunteers.
