Database of bathing waters

In a cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Health, the Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety has compiled the current water quality parameters for all of the swimming venues, which is in accordance with the European Bathing Water Quality Directive.

Aside from the current water quality measurements, there are also comparisons available for previous years as well as a detailed description of the swimming venue (swimming venue profile).

There is also a tool which uses your current location to identify swimming venues that are nearby. The swimming venues can also be viewed by the province in which they are located.

The water quality parameters which are provided, include the water’s temperature and visibility depth as well as the levels of various bacteriological water analysis parameters such as Escherichia coli and Enterococcus spp..
