With the "eID" app, you can present your driver's license and your proof of age in Austria easily, securely and digitally on your smartphone - at a traffic check or in your private life. Simply share your data at the push of a button and completely contactless. No data transfer takes place without your consent.

How it works:
1. Log in to the “Digitales Amt” app with your ID Austria.
2. Download the "eID" app for free.
3. Protect the app with fingerprint or face recognition.
4. Load your digital ID cards into the "eID cards" app using ID Austria.
5. During verification, simply present the QR code generated in the app for your digital ID card. Your counterpart scans the QR code and can thus call up the required data.

The digital IDs and proofs are only valid within Austria.

You need:
· The "Digital Office" app installed on the same device
· An ID Austria with full functionality – more information can be found at oe.gv.at/u/id-austria
· Activated fingerprint function or face recognition
· For the digital driver's license: a valid Austrian credit card driver's license


No new user account is required for the “eID” app, you simply identify yourself using your ID Austria. The ID Austria is the further development of the mobile phone signature and offers secure two-factor authentication for digital services. To do this, log in to the “Digital Office” app with your ID Austria and allow the eID app to access the required information. Both apps are secured by fingerprint function or face recognition.

The app is constantly being further developed and will be supplemented with new certificates and certificates in the future.
