About Adelaide ASURA 2023 App

WELCOME FROM THE CONVENOR / ABOUT ASURA Welcome! It gives me great pleasure to invite you to Adelaide ASURA 2023, the Australasian Symposium on Ultrasound and Regional Anaesthesia, Australasia’s most established and premier regional anaesthesia meeting. Adelaide ASURA 2023 will be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre, from Thursday 2nd March to Saturday 4th March 2023. With an anticipated record attendance of over 400 delegates the meeting format consists of a mixture of plenary talks, masterclasses, small group discussions and a plethora of workshops. Similar to past ASURAs there will be a significant component of hands on teaching. For the first time we have an added emphasis on Paediatric Regional Anaesthesia, with a plenary session and a masterclass devoted to this. Also featured is an advanced cadaver based regional anaesthetic workshop, RAW, at the Adelaide University Medical School Anatomy Laboratory, a short walk from the Convention Centre. For the opportunity to achieve specific CPD points, Emergency Response Activities including Anaphylaxis, CICO and Major Haemorrhage and ASBD will be held during the meeting. Our international and national invited keynote speakers will anchor ASURA 2023 with the latest in regional anaesthesia knowledge, research and hands on teaching. We are fortunate to have leaders in their fields and are thrilled to welcome Associate Professor Enrique A Goytizolo, from New York USA, Dr Rosie Hogg, from Belfast Northern Ireland, Dr Adam Spencer from Alberta, Canada and Associate Professor Alwin Chuan, from Sydney Australia. ASURA 2023 is specifically timed to coincide with the internationally recognised Adelaide Festival of Arts and the Adelaide Fringe Festival. The Adelaide Festival of Arts is considered to be one of the world’s major celebrations of the arts and a pre-eminent cultural event in Australia. The Fringe Festival is the world’s second largest annual arts festival, after Edinburgh Scotland, with a huge variety of performing and visual art forms. The two festivals run concurrently, transforming the city into vibrant hub of fun and entertainment. While many of the Festival events will be within walking distance of the Conference site, you might like to extend your stay and take advantage of these festivals along with the beautiful Adelaide autumn weather! Welcome to ASURA2023, I look forward to seeing you in Adelaide in March 2023. Adelaide ASURA 2023 Convenor Dr David McLeod
