What is it like to be visually impaired?’ If you see well yourself, you will never fully know. The ZIEN app helps you to understand it better.
When someone in your family, or a colleague, classmate or friend becomes visually impaired, you want to know what he or she is experiencing. What can that person still see and what can't they see? Professionals who support patients/clients also want to understand what you are experiencing as fully as possible. That way they can help you better. For example, use the app as information at school, at work or in healthcare.
The ZIEN app lets you experience the five most common variants of visual impairment.
Because it is real-time, you can imagine how it feels and what that means for your life if you are visually impaired.
Good to know: we imitate the images of the five eye disorders and therefore do not show exactly what someone with a certain eye disorder (not) sees. What a person still sees depends on many different factors, including age and the stage of the eye disease.

Bartimeus. 100% life!
Bartiméus is there for all people with a visual impairment. We pull out all the stops to enable them to fully participate in society. We encourage and support people who are visually impaired or blind to get the most out of life. Because in the end it's not about how many percent you see. It's about how much percent you live. That is why our motto is: 100% life!
Bartiméus has a great deal of knowledge and experience in supporting people with a visual and/or additional disability. If we do not (yet) have the knowledge, we develop it in the form of new methodologies or training courses.
Bartiméus believes it is important to make a positive contribution to this. She wants to make society aware of the consequences of a visual impairment on daily life in a creative way. You can find more Bartiméus initiatives at www.bartimeus.nl/accessibility.
