't Gebarenhutje offers a varied range of Flemish Sign Language for toddlers. Together with Melvin and Rosa, two well-known sign language figures, deaf and hearing preschoolers can learn the language in an exciting and playful way. Even parents can join in the fun! In a few videos, Melvin and Rosa take you on their adventures in 't Gebarenhutje. The videos are entirely in Flemish Sign Language and provided with a Dutch voice-over, so that deaf and hearing children and parents can enjoy the adventures together in their preferred language. Melvin and Rosa take the time to teach you Flemish Sign Language and show the gestures in a playful way, divided over different themes. You can even test whether you have mastered the gestures with the Memory game or the quiz questions about the gestures. You can also play poetically with the gestures.
For children who do not like to read children's books in Dutch, there is no problem. In some videos, Rosa likes to read in Flemish Sign Language before going to sleep. In 2023, the entire range of 't Gebarenhutje, produced by Visual Box, will be brought together in a brand new app, making it the very first mobile application in Flemish Sign Language. This was made possible thanks to subsidies from the Flemish Government, coordinated by the Flemish Sign Language Center and developed by Bits of Love.
