The ScanIT add-on extends i-doit with another data import option. Different data from barcodes can be recorded with the aid of a mobile hand-held scanner. These can be new objects or simple category entries to be updated. Before the data is imported into the CMDB, a validation with meaningful feedback takes place. If required, the data to be imported can be directly adjusted or corrected, thus avoiding correcting or deleting incorrectly imported values within the CMDB. Entries such as manufacturer, model, serial number, inventory number, location, delivery date or similar can be recorded. Thus, the ScanIT add-on supports, among other things, in-house processes such as inventory, warehousing, relocations, inventory, incoming and outgoing goods, and much more.
