Matthew Henry was a theologian, writer, and study Bible commentator born in Broad Oak, Wales in 1662.

The son of a clergyman, he received an excellent education and at 18 studied in London. He wrote numerous catechisms and sermons, but he is best known for his commentary on the Bible: An Exposition of the Old and New Testaments.

This great free Bible study guide was written in his later years and has been recognized as the best English-language Bible commentary. Before his death, he had completed the Book of Acts, and after his death, his work was finished by Puritan scholars based on his writings and notes using the Reina-Valera version.
