The I&R Manager App is a customised inspection app, which downloads inspection schedules based on the inspection frequency estimated utilising cumulative damage rates from an existing database to ensure that cracks are picked up at an early stage to avoid failures.
The schedules guide the inspector to inspect critical locations on the structure and record specific information on the defects found.
The defect sizes are checked against their critical crack size and recommendations on when to repair the defect is provided instantaneously for initiating corrective action required.
The history of defects found in previous inspections which are not repaired are also included in the inspection schedule.
The inspections are recorded with photos of defects found which are uploaded to the central database.
It is envisaged that the inspectors will mainly use the app on a tablet but may also use the app on a phone for extremely tight spaces.
