About Amare
Amare is a Catholic movement made for young couples, between 0 and 5 years of marriage, whose mission is to strengthen the union of the couple, with each other, with God and with the Catholic Church, providing an authentic way to transmit to all values of the Sacrament of Marriage.
We use the witness of married life as a source of evangelization, because we understand that the love experienced and shared by two is the best way to convince the world of the beauty of marriage.
Amare was inspired by Pope Francis, who said: “Happy families are essential for the church and society” and the dream of Jesuit priest Eugenio Pacelli to insert young couples in a movement that could bring them closer to the Word of God. God, thus strengthening marriage and the family.
The Amare Movement is also inspired by the orientations of the Second Vatican Council, which preaches a Church in the service of the world, valuing the signs of the times, composed of the service of lay people. The appreciation of earthly realities, such as the difficulties of early marital life, is considered an essential condition for the Church to dialogue with the contemporary world.
With the certainty that happy families walk the path of mature faith in groups of couples, listening to the word, loving and serving, Father Eugenio invites the first couple - Patriciana and David Rodrigues - who had these characteristics to help them. founding AMARE and motivating young couples to follow the same path.
It was then that in July 2015, the founding nucleus formed by Father Eugenio, the couple Patriciana and David and Fatima Moraes invited 12 couples, who already had a mature walk in groups of couples, to encourage the newlyweds to walk in groups, and strengthen themselves in Christ to experience the wonders of marriage, and the joys of living a faith in love and service.
