About Rádio Vila Nova

"The New York Sun" - the first US newspaper popular and possibly the world - hit newsstands on September 3, 1883. The American journal, founded by Benjamin Henry Day (1810-1889), was the concept of the precursor "Penny press" which at that time operated in the traditional press a molded change, mainly by the expansion of democracy and the market.

The September 3, 2016 - exactly 133 years after the founding of "The New York Sun" - arises in Portugal a new body of social communication: RADIO VILA, a station on the Internet, based in Cucujães. The changes to the period "Penny Press" changed the way then the papers worked.

The appearance of RADIO VILA desmudar never sought any way, but rather winning step-by-step their own space. However, there is a timing between the two approaches is important here to highlight in celebratory time: both the old newspaper as the new radio grew politically independent, low-cost, targeted to "ordinary" people and simple speeches.
