The history of the Course and College Alfa de Umuarama began in the 1980s, more precisely in 1982, when the College Alfa replaced the College João XXIII, which existed since 1974.
In 1987, Colégio alfa entered a new phase of its management, starting to develop a teaching model geared to local, regional and state needs, starting a great revolution in the educational system with an excellent team of professionals led by Professor Luiz Carlos Rodrigues.
At that time, Alfa's facilities were still timid, located only at Rua Desembargador Antônio Franco Ferreira da Costa (near the Umuarama Forum). Altogether there were only 200 students enrolled in secondary and supplementary education from 5th to 8th grade, who had night classes.
In the daytime the classrooms were used for pre-school, elementary and high school up to the 3rd year. But, over the years, Alfa's teaching methodology has gained recognition, and consequently more students.
In 1992, new investments and a new business posture led the College to gain more physical space. The institution gains its second headquarters, built on Avenida Parigot de Souza, with approximately 3,000 m2. The investments did not stop there. In 1996, the third headquarters of Alfa Umuarama is completed at Rua Arapongas. Aimed at serving the students of Terceirão and pre-university entrance exam course.
Alfa evolved, grew and became a reference with a team of excellent teachers and collaborators who believed and transformed Alfa into an institution recognized throughout the State of Paraná.
In 2009, the Alfa Umuarama Group wrote yet another important chapter in its history, perhaps investing in its most daring endeavor. Capital da Amizade has further consolidated itself as a regional reference in the provision of quality education with the inauguration of Faculdade Alfa de Umuarama. Today, the enterprise is seen as a great project, which was born walking on its own legs and offers extensive services, with an excellent teaching staff, strictly stipulated hours, extra resources, first-rate laboratories with electronic whiteboards, excellent bibliographic collection, library and rooms equipped with multimedia resources. Faculdade ALFA started its activities with three courses, namely: Management Processes (company management), Marketing and Internet Systems. Altogether there are more than 300 students and the number will increase even more with the new classes. The courses at Faculdade Alfa were approved and recognized by the Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC). In addition to graduation, Faculdade Alfa was also born with three Postgraduate courses. One in Education, another in Law and another in the Business area.
Faculdade Alfa follows a worldwide trend that has been gaining strength in numerous countries. Higher technology courses, which were created with the goal of meeting the direct needs of the labor market. Many medium and large companies have opted to graduate from higher technology courses, as they leave college with a very broad view of their work and their function itself.
