About MonitoraMilho

As you know, we are going through a phytosanitary problem related to corn cropping, with the corn plant as a breeding host for both molicutes (causal agents of the upheavals) and corn leafhoppers that are vectors of the spread of the disease.

The elimination of voluntary corn plants is one of the integrated measures recommended by Embrapa to reduce the populations of leafhoppers and molicutes and consequently damage to the crop's productivity.

Purpose of the application - Monitor the presence of voluntary maize and corn leafhoppers in the State of Paraná. The information will be considered confidential and used exclusively by ADAPAR in its monitoring, sampling and phytosanitary surveillance actions and the results obtained by the monitoring may subsidize actions of the official agricultural research in relation to the problems caused by the stagnations in the corn crop.

Definitions

Voluntary Corn: Also known as tiguera, guacho or spontaneous corn - It is the corn plant present in a fallow agricultural area or with a commercial crop implanted (soybeans, beans, etc.). The corn plant is considered a host for breeding both molicutes and spittlebugs.

Corn leafhopper: insect (adult stage) of the species Dalbulus maides, which is a vector for the spread of molicutes

Molicutes: Pathogens causal agents of corn stalkings

Stumps: Visual symptoms observed in corn plants, such as poorly developed plants, reddish leaves, multispigmentation, poor ear formation.

Presence of Voluntary Corn Plants - Average number of voluntary corn plants present in a given area.

Presence of leafhoppers - Presence or absence of leafhoppers hosting voluntary corn. If it is impossible to evaluate the plan, you can check the option without information.

General Observations - Optional field and intended to record information that the user finds relevant, such as area size (ha), generalized or localized presence of voluntary plants or corn leafhoppers, plants with visual symptoms of stubble, plants from germinating flow after chemical control, treatments performed and results achieved, etc.
