The National Association of Prosecutors of the Republic was created on September 22, 1973, in an assembly held at the headquarters of the Attorney General's Office in the Federal District, with the participation of 40 prosecutors, following a series of preparatory meetings. The entity was born with the name of Association of Prosecutors of the Republic and its first president was the attorney Geraldo Andrade Fonteles.
