The Active School Search is a free tool to help municipalities combat school exclusion, developed by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in partnership with the National Union of Municipal Directors of Education (Undime), the National Board of Managers municipal Social Welfare (Congemas) and TIM Institute.
The intention is to assist governments in the identification, registration, control and monitoring of children and adolescents who are out of school or at risk of evasion. Through active search School, municipalities and states will have concrete data that will enable plan, develop and implement public policies that contribute to school inclusion.
The Active School Search brings together representatives of different areas - education, health, social welfare, planning - within a single platform. Each person or group has a specific role, ranging from the identification of a child or adolescent out of school to take the measures necessary for enrollment and permanence of the student in school. The entire process is done online and the tool can be accessed on any device like desktop computers, laptops, tablets, mobile phones (SMS) or mobile phones (smartphones). There are also printed forms for agents who do not have access to mobile devices.
