You will be given test questions for all states and for all categories of commercial transportation.

This license is required to drive any legal combination of vehicles, with a gross combined weight rating of 26,001 pounds or more, preventing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of a trailer from exceeding 10,000 pounds. To receive this license, applicants must pass a 50-question exam. To pass, applicants must answer 40 questions correctly. Each question has three or four possible answer options. Test questions come from the Alabama Commercial Driver's License Manual. Questions come from chapters covering the following topics: Introduction, Driving Safely, Transporting Cargo Safely, Air Brakes (if applicable), Combination Vehicles, Doubles, and Hazardous Materials. The endorsements that can be used with a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) are: Hazmat, Tank, Passenger, Hazmat and Tank, Air Brakes, and School Bus.
