Promoting benefits to humans and their pets!
Our work consists of performing public and social castration in different locations in Rio de Janeiro.
It is important that people become aware that animal reproduction is not a decision to be made on impulse.
It must be kept in mind that the animal is a living being; and, as such, he has feelings and, like us, he feels hungry, cold, fear, pain, longing and knows how to return affection. Therefore, placing a life in the world is a very serious decision.
It should be aware that the dog or cat, lives, on average, 15 years, generate monthly expenses with food and health care (veterinarian, vaccines, medicines), need affection, love, attention, need to be educated and fed , that is, they need dedication and time available to become great companions.
The decision to neuter the dog or cat prevents the onset of various diseases and keeps custody responsible, and should be a matter of interest to all dog and cat owners.
There is a great concern with the population control of dogs and cats and neutering is one of the ways to prevent animals (mainly puppies) from being abandoned daily. In addition to preventing unwanted litters, spaying also brings other benefits to the animal and its parent:
• The early castration of females, that is, before the first heat, reduces by up to 95% the chances of the animal having a breast tumor in adulthood, since it is a type of hormone dependent tumor (hormone produced by the ovaries). In males, castration prevents diseases such as prostate or testicular tumor.
• Prevents the appearance of pyometra (disease caused by the accumulation of pus inside the uterus, which, if not treated in time, can lead the female to death); metritis, ovarian tumor and uterus; TVT (transmissible venereal tumor); and pseudocyesis (psychological pregnancy).
• The female will no longer enter heat and will therefore not attract males.
• Prevents the occurrence of unwanted pregnancies and the consequent abandonment of litters
• If performed during youth, it avoids / reduces inconvenient habits, such as the demarcation of territory with urine.
• Avoids fights for dominance and dispute for territory, in places where several animals coexist.
• Avoids the escape of males from the house after females in heat and consequent fights, pedestrian accidents, poisoning, as well as contagion with some infectious diseases transmitted by saliva (bite).
