What is the EPD?
The Electronic Patient Record (EPR) is a collection of personal information, data and documents related to your health that are stored there by the healthcare professionals who are in charge of your treatment or by you yourself. The data is your sole property and you retain control of all important documents related to your treatments.
Apart from you, only the healthcare professionals to whom you grant access rights can view this information at any time via an internet connection secured by an electronic identity.
The documents contained in your EPD are particularly useful during your treatment, for example when you are admitted to a hospital or during a consultation. The healthcare professional can easily get to know your medical history by, with your consent, being able to see the documents in your EPR (medication plan, medical reports, test results, etc.). Thanks to the EPD, the validity of diagnosis and treatment is improved and the risks of unnecessary or double therapies are greatly reduced.
