It is considered today as one of the greatest teachers of modernity and has contributed to the development of the Swiss public education.
In 2015, Freiburg celebrates the 250th anniversary of the birth of Jean-Baptiste Girard. To mark this anniversary, a thematic course was designed in his city.
The "Father Girard Way" takes place in the program of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe dedicated to the great teachers of the continent.
