FarmaceuticApp is an application developed by the Pharmaceutical Prevention and Promotion Research Group of the University of Antioquia.
FarmaceuticApp is a free access application, which allows the consultation of updated information for the proper use of medicines and in a totally accessible way to guarantee the understanding of it, through three different ways:
- Bar code capture present on the label of the medicine
- Search by photo, by text recognition in the image of the medicine
- Search by voice with the generic or commercial name of the medicine
- Search by text with the generic or commercial name of the medicine
The objective of the FarmaceuticApp application is to offer objective, reliable and up-to-date information for the proper use of medicines, which is of practical interest to users. For this, it has access to a database of information prepared by pharmacists from the information provided by Drugs to a Click (Ministry of Social Protection of Colombia), the Drug Information System (Humax Pharmaceutical) and BotPlus 2.0 (General Council of Official Associations of Pharmacists of Spain).
The application FarmaceuticApp, can guide the user on the proper use of medicines, but NEVER replace the information that can provide health professionals.
In addition, FarmaceuticApp allows you to identify pharmacies and hospitals closest to the user's location.
