God has made for every need a reason and a way to reach it. Faith is the greatest and most important requirement. And God has made for him reasons that bring him to strength and strengthen him, just as he had reasons that weaken and frustrate him, and one of the greatest things that strengthens and brings him faith is knowledge of the names of God Almighty mentioned in the Qur’an and Sunnah, keenness to understand their meanings, and devotion to God through them. The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Allah has ninety-nine names, a hundred except for one who memorizes them will enter Paradise.” That is, whoever memorizes it, understands its meanings and connotations, praises God for it, asks Him for it, and believes in it, will enter Paradise.
