This application is used as part of an interactive event visit for the Botero exhibition at the Fine Arts museums in the cities of Mons and Tournai (in Belgium) from October 2021 to January 2022.
It allows you to scan QR codes scattered all over the museums in order to live an interactive experience with the works on display and thus offer a completely new reading grid for the paintings and sculptures presented.
Panic at the Museums!
Panique aux Musées is a transmedia project aimed at promoting the exhibitions in Mons and Tournai which will be held from October 2021 to January 2022. On the program: a visit to the exhibitions, activities linked to the works on site, podcasts, storytelling evenings, an escape game, and finally, an interactive walk. It is within the framework of the latter that this application comes into play.
On the track of the Grand Chronophage
The exhibitions in the Museums of Mons and Tournai are disturbed by strange phenomena. Through a mysterious sleight of hand, a character escaped from one of the paintings on display. Its name: the Grand Chronophage. It was called that because it will stop at nothing to feed on time. His appetite is formidable, and if we don't stop him quickly, he will lead us to the end of time.
Do you have a taste for adventure and investigation? Then you are the perfect candidate to help the museum curator shed light on the cause of these incidents. Download the app and visit the exhibitions face to face in search of clues left by the Grand Chronophage and his minions!
Track every corner for clues
When you visit the site, keep the app close to you, as it will go a long way in helping you find the whereabouts of the Grand Chronophage and his minions. Scan the various QR-codes that will cross your path, on the walls, near the works, and in other more unusual places. Each of them will provide a new item in order to solve the investigation given to you.
Hide and seek with the works
The works in the exhibitions have in fact been replaced by reproductions, pending the resolution of the mystery hanging over the museum. When scanning the works, the true version, which has been damaged by the minions, appears on the screen. Find out where the error is in order to force the creature to show itself.
Collect trophies
Each time you find a minion, you will earn a clue, in addition to a trophy proving your detective skills. These trophies contain a lot of information on the functioning of the museum, on the role of all the people who work there, on the function of each place, on the maintenance of the works, in short everything that makes an exhibition go smoothly. !
