Electronic KTP (e-KTP) is a new residence card issued by the government and supported by a more accurate, secure, and orderly administration of information systems. In addition eKTP is also automatically integrated with the population database at the central Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA).
Each resident can only have one KTP. Even though the person concerned often changes residence, even out of the Regency / City, Province, or Island. Then the NIK will remain the same and there will only be one (1).
The government created this system to avoid the possibility that someone could have more than 1 KTP with bad or criminal purposes, such as terrorism and hide themselves from police arrests for corruption.
The NIK contained in the e-KTP will be adjusted to other identities such as: making a passport, driving license, and other identities. But if you already know, the NIK in your e-KTP is already registered in the central population database or not. Perhaps most lay people do not yet know and understand whether the e-KTP they have is truly genuine or fake.
