How to Overcome the Stick
Cutaneous is a condition characterized by swelling, redness, and pain in the corners of the fingertips due to the growth of the side of the nail that protrudes inward so that it injures the skin. This condition is often experienced by the big toe especially in people who have curved or thick nails. Slips can occur on the nails on one foot or on both feet.

Although cantengan can be cured, this condition risks recurring repeatedly or & nbsp; cause complications if not treated properly. Complications due to cantengan can be serious, especially in people suffering from diabetes or blood vessel disorders.

Incomplete symptoms
Common symptoms of cantengan include:

  • Pain when nails that are hardened are pressed.

  • There is a buildup of fluid in the toe.

  • Bleeding on the fingernails with an incision.

  • White or yellow pus discharge.

  • Inflammation of the skin at the tip of the toe.

  • The toe skin is overgrown.

  • Excessive blood, pus and overgrowth on the nails that are cantengan are symptoms of infection of the nails. Therefore, if symptoms of infection appear, nails that have taper should be treated immediately so as not to get worse.



Cause of Sticking
Cantengan quite often happens, mainly caused by the following things:


  • Cut the nails incorrectly. If the toe nail is cut too short or penetrated to the edge of the nail, it can cause the toe skin to grow abnormally and penetrate the skin.

  • Nail shape. Fan shaped nails make it easier to pierce the skin.

  • Sweaty feet. Sweat on the skin of the toes can cause nails to become soft and easily damaged, so it slides on the skin.

  • Leg injury. Foot injuries, for example due to tripping or kicking hard objects unintentionally, can cause nail damage or make the nail stick into the skin.

  • Use tight and narrow shoes or socks. Narrow socks and shoes will press your toenails, so that they can penetrate the skin.

  • Not maintaining foot hygiene.

  • Genetic factors.




Some physical activity, especially those involving foot kicks on hard objects, can trigger the occurrence of cantengan. Examples of physical activity include:


  • Ballet dancing.

  • Soccer.

  • Rugby. & nbsp;

  • Kickboxing. & nbsp;
