There is a suspension bridge over a small river Lesnoy Voronezh in Michurinsk. Weddings are very fond of walking along it. No wonder: an idyllic Central Russian landscape opens up. Shiny water, tight greenery of bushes, steep white steps of the bridge, resting against the gates of the nursery, behind which there is a small picturesque house, painted green. By misunderstanding, many believe that this is Michurin's house. In fact, Michurin's house-museum is located in the depths of the nursery garden; an asphalt path, densely lined with trees, leads from the bridge to it.
The land from which the nursery began, Ivan Vladimirovich and his wife bought in 1887 specifically for agricultural research. The Michurins did not have enough money - they had to transfer plants from the previous, urban site to the new one, which is 7 km one way. Michurin designed the house with a wooden veranda himself. It turned out to be small. Now the nursery garden is only 170 hectares. The rest of the land is abandoned. A small allotment around the house is being cultivated by the museum workers - three women.
Everything in the house is as it was under Michurin: furniture, photographs, books, tools. Clock. Ivan Vladimirovich understood the mechanisms, he loved to repair them. Today, all clocks in the museum show the same time - nine hours thirty minutes, and the date on the wall calendar has not changed for many years: June 7, 1935 (date and time of Michurin's death)
