The application was created as part of Gdańska Aleja Włazów, which was established in Gdańsk, in the northern part of the headland of Ołowianka Island. This place has been associated with the history of the Gdańsk water and sewage system for 150 years, because it was on the island that the first and still functioning largest sewage pumping station in Gdańsk was built, which to this day serves 2/3 of the City's inhabitants connected to the system.
You can use the application while walking along the Avenue's paths, and while performing various tasks, including interactive ones, you can learn more about the history of the sewage system in Gdańsk, the principles of the system's operation, the collected manholes built into the area of the Avenue, the Ołowianka pumping station, and learn interesting facts and anecdotes related to the functioning of the network .
The avenue has been divided into three parts: historical hatches, hatches from Poland and hatches from abroad, and enriched with greenery and benches. Two drinking water springs have also been built in this area, which in the summer season allow residents and tourists to quench their thirst and hydrate themselves on hot days.
