About The Age of Shango
The Age of Shango is a turn-based, strategy game with a colored map to depict territories under the control of different civilization. Civilization contains many territories and player compete to dislodge another player from territories until they take over the civilization. Territories that are subject of controversy are shaded.
It is a Strategy war game played on the world map that balances weapons, skills and powers of drawn from different civilizations while creating a learning experience for the players. It is a strategic war game of numbers, knowledge, and special powers. Rather than what you get in a typical strategy war game that is based on numbers (troops, weapons), and knowledge of the player. The game has the ability to give players the knowledge to win. Victory is attained by superior planning and choosing the optimum actions such as tactical, logistical (movement of troops and weapons), and economy.
Players first trivia mission is to pick the source of humanity from different points on the world map, depending on the player’s selection, he either gets grasses or yams/humans. The later signifies life. He would pick yams and grow or die off from lack of food.
The player then gain access into the real game environment showing the world map divided into civilizations, each civilization has territories. The player gets a certain number of troops, and special powers at the start of the game, and at every turn. The player represents a single territory and his mission would be to obtain more territories than other after a certain number of turns.
The gameplay consists of 3 distinct actions: plan, attack, and defence.
During the planning phase, a player gets to determine how the attack and defense would be stage using troops, weapons, special powers, and other things at the player’s disposal. The player position troops and tanks in enemy territories during this stage. He also gets to determine what powers and weaponry would be deployed to weaken a territory.
The attack phase is when the player activates his plan and see it effects in the enemy territory. At this phase any counter measures the enemy has put in place would also manifest in the game play.
The defense phase is when the players has completed his turn and has transfer control of the game to another player. The player’s defense strategy would be required here to survive attacks from the enemy.
When the game is done, depending on the players position, he would be moved to the next level of the game in the league.
