The book of 1 Kings sees the end of David's reign and its transition. It was not easy, nor was it peaceful. Until now the king of Israel had dealt with many difficult situations in his government, especially after his mistake with Bathsheba, where God sent a sentence on his house, that the sword would not depart from her (2 Samuel 12:10).
