REALWORLD was founded by artist Manuel Rossner. He creates digital art experiences since 2012. They are based on his collaborations with institutions like KÖNIG GALERIE, the Grand Palais in Paris and Hamburger Kunsthalle. He also created site-specific virtual and augmented reality artworks for Frankfurter Kunstverein, NRW-Forum Düsseldorf, Museum der bildenden Künste Leipzig and the InterCommunication Center Tokyo.
In 2021 his work “How Did We Get Here?” became part of the permanent collection of Hamburger Kunsthalle alongside Gerhard Richter, Charlotte Posenenske, Francis Bacon and Lucio Fontana. It will be the first NFT (Non-Fungible Token) in their collection.
REALWORLD merges these artworks in one digital collection. You can experience it in an app that will be available worldwide for iOS, Android and Oculus Quest 2.
When he started approaching digital space a decade ago, Rossner first created an exhibiton space for digital art called FLOAT GALLERY.
He has worked on numerous exhibitions offering the possibilites of digital spaces based on physical galleries and institutions to established and upcoming artists. One example of this pursue is his ongoing collaboration with KÖNIG GALERIE where he build an app showing artworks by Gerhard Richter, Robert Longo, Claudia Comte, Sigmar Polke and many more.
Based on these experiences Rossner helped artists like Erwin Wurm and Katharina Grosse to create their first NFTs.
REALWORLD holds the NFTs of Rossner’s artworks, but also collects digital work by artists working in the digital. So far it holds work by Katharina Grosse, Manuel Fernandéz and Nicolas Sassoon and continues to aquire relevant work in the field. From the beginning of 2022 it will display the collection in a dedicated digital building also accessible through the REALWORLD apps.
