Roto ā Tara has important historical significance to the people of Te Whatuiapiti, Ngāti Kahungunu and Waikato-Tainui. This application brings to life te Roto a Tara - what the lake looked like before it was drained and some of the settlements such as Kahotea Pā, situated around the lake. This app reveals in detail stories that took place at te Roto a Tara lake and the fortified pā site of the same name. Some of the stories showcased through this app are:
