Muslims who may be glorified by Allah Ta'ala, among the most glorious worship in Islam is prayer. Prayer in language means prayer. As for the term shari'ah, prayer is a form of worship to Allah Ta'ala in the form of words and actions with certain procedures, which begin with takbir and end with greetings (Syarhul Mumti, 2/5).
The obligation to pray five times a day
Prayer is a service that is required by Allah Ta'ala for all His servants. As the word of Allah Ta'ala (which means): "Indeed, prayer is a time-determined obligation on those who believe." all Muslims. The Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam sent Mu'adz (to preach) to Yemen, he said: "Teach them that Allah has obliged them to pray five times a day and night." (Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim).
Pray as the Prophet did prayers
In doing prayer, we must follow the procedures taught by the Prophet, both in terms of time and procedures. The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said:" Pray as you see me pray. "(Narrated by Bukhari).
Stand facing the Qibla close to Sutrah
Before performing the prayer, a person must fulfill the legal requirements of prayer, namely: knowing when the prayer has entered, purifying from large and small hadats, sacred clothing, body and place of prayer, closing the genitals and sincere intentions because of Allah Ta'ala. Rasulullah sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam when he wanted to do the prayer, he stood facing the Qibla and put the sutras near the place of prostration.
Standing is one of the pillars in fard prayer for those who are able to stand. Allah Ta'ala says (which means): "Stand (pray) because God is solemn." (Surat al-Baqarah: 238). If unable to stand up, then it is permissible to pray by sitting or lying down. The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said:" Pray with standing, if you are not able to sit down, if not able to also lie down (HR. Bukhari).
