The App Zeitfenster - Ruine Anwil presents the history of a medieval Swiss residential tower in multimedia and in all its facets. Using augmented reality, a real-size reconstruction of the ruin can be admired on site in Buhwil (TG) or anywhere as a miniature model.
The virtual residential tower presented for this purpose represents an ideal-typical reconstruction of the Anwil ruins from 1615. The reconstruction was derived on the basis of findings from the archaeological investigation, sketches, reports and references typical of the time. So it is a variant of the past that - despite careful research - does not necessarily have to correspond to reality.
The app was created with Vuforia and therefore supports rather newer smartphones.
