Happy to inform that we had done with Surya siddhanta calculation part along with software coding.
The panchanga which is given in this is calculated by following each and every sloka said by lord surya in surya siddhantam and implementing the mathematical part which is encoded in sloka.
*Surya Siddhanta.*
Surya Siddhanta is text book of Hindu Astronomy . This book belongs to the end of kritayuga, which is around 21 lacks years ago. Surya siddhanta is Apaurusheya because sun god himself explained this knowledge to many sages in different ages, in such a way that lord sri Krishna explained bhagavatgeeta to Arjuna. we Indians are blessed to have such divine book which gives all information about the planetary motions and all calculations related to bhugola and bhagola. This is the pride of our Indian astronomy.
*Surya Siddhanta For Daiva Karyas.*
Surya Siddhanta panchangam is used in festivals, vedic works, Pooja sankalpas, Sandhyavanda Sankalpam, pitru karmas, all vedic works related to gods.
And for Horoscope casting, muhurtha making, Travelling, Rasiphalas, Planetary transits, eclipse calculations,utsavas in temples.. Drik Siddhantam(Modern Calculation) is used .
The main difference between drik and surya siddhantha is, surya siddhanta was mainly built-up on yuga system and the lengths of yugas are given in surya siddhantam and we donot find any such yuga in Modern Astronomy Calculation Procedure.
In vedic rituals , In sankalpas we say “kaliyuge prathama pade….” Here sankalpam that we say in vedic rituals is based on yuga, so we have to use the calculation which is also based on yuga, and this calculation which is based on yuga is seen in surya siddhanta while calculating the ahargana there we calculate how many yugas had passed since srusti Aarambha and from there we calculated the number of civil days which is called ahargana and from that ahargana we calculate the planetary positions and panchanga, hence surya siddhanta is related to God.
In sankalpas many people use drik calculations instead surya siddhanta which may not give desired results.
It took so many years to complete it, because here in surya siddhanta we have 500 slokas in Sanskrit where all the formulas are encoded in these Sanskrit slokas. Understanding the sloka and decoding the mathematical formula from the sloka and implementing that formula in calculation is the core part in this project.
