The origin of THC Westerkappeln e.V. can be found in the peasantry Seeste. Many women had come together there in the summer of 1969 to a gym group. At the same time, the members of the Protestant youth group YMCA, local group Westerkappeln met to play handball.
The inaugural meeting of the Association was held in the restaurant Schoppmeyer in Seeste.
On 29/07/1974 the THC was registered under number 323 in the register at the local court Tecklenburg. Ludwig Moldenhauer and Werner Schroer had to be created the foundation in their painstaking efforts.
