DPhV

The German Philologists Association (DPhV) is the federal and umbrella organization of the philologists associations in the federal states. Members are teachers at high schools, secondary schools, universities and other colleges as well as at other educational institutions that prepare for the Abitur. The association was founded in Halle in 1903 and today organizes around 90,000 individual members in 15 state associations. It represents the professional and educational interests of high school teachers in civil servant status and in employment.
