GO GENIUS is a mobile application designed for assisted learning of European Portuguese, created by Professor Sandra Figueiredo, Researcher of the Center of the Autonomous University of Lisbon (CIP-UAL) and funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). Its main users are immigrants, Portuguese and foreign migrants, encompassing all age groups. It can also be used a pedagogical tool for schools.
This app contains several games and educational challenges to assist users to reach level B1 and level B2 in Portuguese. The app offers users a wide range of games and challenges involving the most diverse learning tools, such as: reading, writing and phonetic exercises that are fully backed by tutorials in ten different languages. Subsequently, the classification grid is generated so that users understand their level of proficiency.
All games and challenges will be presented in a bilingual manner, after users select the chosen language in the Menu.
GO GENIUS is available on Android and on PCs, using Android emulators.
This app is based on previous scientific research in Psychology and Education. The Principal Researcher Sandra igueiredo suggests: “(…) spend short daily moments (15 to 20 minutes) learning in this app for greater effectiveness. (…)”.
This app has a free of charge phase (first eight days after launch) and a paid phase. It is the only app on language teaching and learning on the market that ensures access to all content through a single purchase (€ 3.99) of the app, with no monthly fees!
