This is an indie horror from the first person, in which you find yourself in an area called Kowloon in search of cheap housing. The inhabitants of this place only at first glance seem to be ordinary people, but if we dig deeper, we will see their real faces.
Welcome to Kowloon is a first-person horror game. The stage of this work is the huge slum “Kowloon Walled City” that once existed in Hong Kong. It’s a lawless area where the government doesn’t get involved, and it’s a residential area where various illegal activities take place. There are many distorted buildings that have been illegally expanded over and over, and countless narrow alleys. Its peculiar structure looks like a maze, and has the nickname of “Oriental Cave”.
In this work, the player will be a young student who moved to Kowloon Walled City in search of cheap housing. Once in, however, the player seems to be drawn into an alternate reality. In the trailer, you can see how the fantastic Kowloon Castle has been transformed into a dark and spooky city. At the same time, the transformed Kowloon Castle has many human figures who are considered to be “residents”. They are hiding and protecting something important.
In this work, the gameplay will be like exploring the spooky Kowloon City and trying to unravel this secret.
