The project one library to another is part of a desire to educate Montrealers to architecture and design, highlighting the buildings holding a rich heritage that is the Plateau-Mont-Royal Library , instead Gérald-Godin and the site of the Blessed Sacrament Shrine in Montreal. It takes its inspiration not only from the exceptional geographical environment enjoyed the Plateau library, but also a desire to provide citizens with a means to discover the architecture and design of the premises under a new angle: that of digital.
The project builds on an architectural representation of elevation cutting system. The application hosts over a hundred images, each representing elements of architecture, history or anecdotes of users related to space. These were collected in a participatory design workshop. The thread of the application is the time line. Indeed, from the past with the current library, at present with the development project instead Gérald Godin, until future with the projected library.
The application has three modes:
A navigation mode to explore the landscape of the current library to the new;
Displacement mode to change this landscape;
A fashion drawing to redraw the landscape and the future library.
The ability to start over, to capture an image and to know a little more about the full project functionality.
