Help COPD is an assistant for COPD patients whose main objective is to enable them to improve adherence to treatment and self-control of the disease through the resources described below:
- Guides: The application has several guides that will help the patient to become familiar with COPD and know the fundamental aspects.
- Videos: Different videos have been selected in which real cases of the daily life of patients with COPD are shown, how to perform the recommended exercises, and how to use inhalers, among others.
- Registration and total control over fundamental aspects of COPD: The patient can keep a daily record of exacerbations, ordinary medical examinations, body mass index, exercise performed, tobacco, etc. All these data can be viewed comfortably through the weekly, monthly and annual charts integrated in the application, which in turn show progress with respect to the previous week, month or year.
- Dose reminders: The possibility of setting up alarms is easily offered so that the application notifies the patient when they have to take a dose of their medication.
- Achievements: The patient can unlock up to 8 achievements, 4 related to physical exercise and 4 others related to smoking. These concepts of gamification encourage the patient and can improve the adherence to the treatment of COPD.
- Diagnostics: The application integrates 4 indexes related to the diagnosis of COPD, which are: COPD-PS, CAT, BODE and BODEx. The patient can obtain a diagnosis of the degree of COPD by completing the corresponding questionnaires.
- Scales: In the same way as the diagnoses, two scales are included: the mMRC dyspnea scale and the Borg dyspnea scale.
