Discover the Elbe river landscape biosphere reserve with this app. The tours were created together with residents of the region and thus offer an authentic insight into the valuable nature, the eventful history and life on the big river.
Lenzen Castle is the ideal starting point for this. It is located on the Elbe in the four-country triangle between Hamburg and Berlin, directly on the Green Belt. Here, the Bund für Umwelt und Naturschutz Deutschland e.V. (BUND) has created a wonderful place to experience nature with its floodplain and visitor center.
So far, three tours have been integrated, more are to follow:
1) Auentour - cycle route between the Elbe and Aland
The floodplain tour offers insights into the different habitats of a floodplain landscape and into the cultural history of the former border region. The route leads along the valuable and revived alluvial forest of the Hohe Garbe.
2) Lenzener Horchtour - tour through the city
Lenzen is one of the oldest towns in Brandenburg. This tour is about the eventful history of the city, stories behind old walls and special Lenzen personalities.
3) Lenzen Castle exhibition tour – listen to stories about the town
Your guide for the exhibition on the history of the town of Lenzen Castle: Based on eight particularly interesting stories and exhibits, you can get up close and personal with the historical context of the town of Lenzen.
