About Nialloid
Nialloid is an application that you talk to and it talks back! It learns from sentences and phrases that you use and builds up vocabulary as it goes along. The more you talk to it the more it learns.
You can either interact with it by typing or by speaking. You can also put the app into continuous speech mode where it will just listen to conversations around it and respond with sentences from what it hears.
To start with, it will have no knowledge of any words so will just repeat what you say but give it some time and between the gibberish it will come out with something profound! Occasionally it will be spookily accurate.
Thanks go to Matthew Peck who created the original program(called NIALL) in 1990 in the language of AMOS on the Amiga. NIALL stands for Non-Intelligent AMOS language learner.
