Meherpur Press Club was established in the 5th. The club was established with the generous patronage of the then sub-divisional administration, along with some other journalists, including daily news journalist Islam Ali, daily Azad Ansarul Haque, Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) Mozammel Haque and Mrinal Kanti Bhattacharya.
